Today’s prompt in our 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes Challenge is: TELL

storyteller

GO.

As Christian writers, we have a high calling.

A duty. An obligation.

I’ve heard it illustrated like this: If you were on a cruise ship and someone fell overboard into the sea and you had access to a flotation device that would save the drowning person’s life, would you throw it to them?

Of course you would.

As Christian writers, we hold the life rings in our hands. It’s our job to throw them to those who are drowning.

It’s our job to tell the glorious things that the Lord has done. We have knowledge that can save lives by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Why wouldn’t we want to shout it from the rooftops?

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” ~ Romans 10:14-15

In the process of writing my memoir, I’ve been so moved by the song Storyteller by Morgan Harper Nichols. I shared it at the Five Minute Friday Retreat, and pray it will be a great blessing to you as well:
