A Prayer for Open Door Opportunities {Day 11 :: Door}

It’s Day 11 of 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes, and today we’re writing on the prompt, DOOR.

Yesterday I encouraged you to do some personal reflection on where and when you feel most comfortable sharing your story.

Today I’m going to take a brief intermission from our regular programming and offer up a prayer for all of us as we seek to be attentive to and take advantage of the open door opportunities that God lays in our path.

A Prayer for Open Door Opportunities and Boldness to Speak

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the story that you’ve given me. Thank you for being the author of my story, and for orchestrating every detail of it. Help me to use my story for your glory, Lord. Give me open doors and opportunities to share my testimony of your goodness with others. Keep my eyes wide for those open door opportunities, and when you reveal them to me, I pray that you would also give me the boldness to step through them.

Help me overcome my fears, Lord. Give me your power and your strength and the words I need to speak in each situation and circumstance so that your name would receive all the glory and honor and praise.

Place me in situations where people are hungry and thirsty for your truth, and give me the courage and clarity to share it well. Help me discern whether you want me to share my story with one person or one hundred, through speaking or writing, one time or many times. Conform my will to yours, Lord — help me to be willing to serve in this way.

Make me your instrument, Lord.
