Sometimes life sure does feel heavy, doesn’t it?
They say, “When it rains, it pours,” and even though things are actually fine right now, I’m feeling the weight of several friends, family members, and acquaintances fighting their own difficult battles.
So many lost souls, so many aching hearts.
It can easily all add up, and if I dwell on it all at once, it feels too much to bear.
What a blessing to be able to hand over these cares to the One who holds the whole world in His hands. The One who calls us to come, who invites us to trade our burdens for His peace:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~ Matthew 11:28-30
Friend, if you’re feeling heavily burdened today, remember this:
“Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.” ~ Thomas Moore, Come, Ye Disconsolate (hymn)
Jesus came to bear the ultimate burden of all: the weight of our own sin that separated us from a holy God. Because of His sacrifice once for all, we are set free. The burden has been lifted. Praise God, the weight is gone.
So even though we still feel the weight of sin in this life, He has already overcome. Jesus wins. Death and sin have been defeated.
And we find rest.

For extra encouragement, maybe someone needs this song this week. It’s called Come as You Are, by Crowder:

Love the Thomas Moore quote.
It’s kinda weird, but as my physical condition deteriorates and even breathing becomes hard (can’t hold a phone conversation any more, not for weeks) there is a lightness of spirit…so much has been stripped aay that my soul is free to fly, or something like that.
If that makes sense?
Andrew (& Barb), how glad I am that we met each other. Sat with one another, prayed together and shared one another’s burdens. Truly, one of my great experiences of this trip.
Such great insights came out of this writing today for me!

Burden: Lay it all at His feet. Do not be anxious about anything. Put all of your worries at His feet. In this life we walk through dark places. But the Bible can be our light to show each of us the way ahead so we all won’t stumble and fall when we take a step.we all need to study the Bible to stay on the right path. All of us may be carrying a heavy burdens
Jesus free all of us from are burdens. Jesus promises all of us His love,God is love, healing and peace.
