Do you know how the Five Minute Friday community started?

It all began with a question.

One day blogger and author Lisa-Jo Baker realised she had five uninterrupted minutes in her possession. She considered folding laundry. She thought about closing her eyes. Then she wondered, “What if I wrote?”

So she set a timer and embarked on a five-minute free writing exercise.

That was over 8 years ago.

She hosted this community on her website for more than three years before passing the baton to me in 2014. In August this year, I’ll celebrate five years serving this amazing group of writers, many of whom I’ve had the privilege of meeting in person.

At the beginning of this year, I thought, “What is something special I could do to mark the five-year anniversary?” I’m continually seeking new ways to serve this community better.

Then God gave me an idea: a writing prompt journal.

Who says we should only write online or type on a keyboard? Who says we should only free write on Fridays?

So, I set out to create the first ever Five Minute Friday Writing Prompt Journal. My goal was to have it ready by my fifth FMF hosting anniversary in August, but guess what? It’s done earlier than I expected!

I thought about waiting until August to share it with you, but I’m just too excited.

So, without further ado, I present to you the Five Minute Writing Prompt Journal, now available on Amazon:
