Today’s prompt is: GIFT
Whether you realise it or not, you have been given gifts. Meaningful gifts. Gifts that serve a purpose.
The book of Ephesians tells us that Jesus Christ has given gifts to His people “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God . . .” (Ephesians 4:12-13a).
The Apostle Paul goes on a few verses later to say that the whole body of Christ (in other words, the Church), is joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, and when each part is working properly, it makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love (Ephesians 4:16).
With this in mind, how has the Lord equipped you to build up the body of Christ?
How can you use the gifts you’ve been given to help others attain unity?
Are you part of the body that is “working properly,” or are you withholding the gifts you’ve been given, keeping them to yourself because of laziness, underconfidence, or a lack of motivation?
How are you using your talents, abilities, and unique skill set to help the body of Christ build itself up in love?
