This week’s FMF writing prompt is: HOW
GO.
A longtime FMF community member suggested the prompt, HOW, for this week, and I thought, “Yes. That’s appropriate.” So many “How?” questions have been flowing through my mind and across the screen as I read news articles and social media sites.
But when I pause to think about the most prominent “Hows” right now, the answers are all the same for those who trust in Christ. At the risk of sounding trite or oversimplifying, our answers and hope are always found in Christ, by His grace, and with God’s help.
How will we transition back to “normal” life after staying at home with businesses shut down for so long?
In Christ, by His grace, and with God’s help.Â
How will we overcome the economic strain that has taken place as a result of COVID-19?
In Christ, by His grace, and with God’s help.Â
How will we recover from the depth of personal and collective grief we have experienced in recent weeks and months?
In Christ, by His grace, and with God’s help.Â
How will America ever heal from the pain and sin of pervasive racism?
In Christ, by His grace, and with God’s help.Â
The list of questions goes on. Yes, there are hard days ahead. Yes, it will require significant emotional, spiritual, and physical work. But whenever we feel hopeless, whenever we think there is no way forward, whenever the solution seems impossible, we can remember that “with God, all things are possible” — in Christ, by His grace, and with God’s help.

Our friend didn’t show up in the linkup. I’m concerned. I wonder HOW he is doing.
Just the word of encouragement we all need!
Amen!
Yes, Kate. By His Grace. We just have to let His Sonshine flow into our winter hearts.
Amen and amen! It’s difficult to see our way through, but we can and we will. In him.
What a year, week, season…whew! It’s exhausting and distressing and I’m so thankful I know Jesus. I cannot imagine navigating all the turmoil without His promise to never leaves us or forsakes us. The world needs a helping heaping of His amazing grace right now. Thank you for hosting the link up! Stay safe and well and hopeful.
Oh apologies I uploaded the first time and something went amiss. Had to again.
How dyou delete an error 😔upload?
I can’t even talk about racism with any real depth yet. I haven’t written about it, and I feel bad about that. I don’t know what to say or what could I add, so I’m listening. This feels like a cowardly way out, so I’ve started also looking for good information on how to bridge the gap in a loving and respectful way. I’m trusting God will lead me and give me the right words, His words. Until then, I rest in His grace.
