This week’s FMF writing prompt is: AHEAD
As I type this, the official results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election have not yet been determined. To say it’s been a week (ahem, year) of uncertainty would be an understatement. I’ve heard from several friends who have expressed feelings of tension, stress, and general unsettledness over a variety of circumstances.
The reality is, no matter what the outcome will be, we have no idea what lies ahead. People may speculate what will happen, but the truth is we have no idea what the future holds. No idea, except, of course, what the Scriptures promise: that God is still in control, that He is still on the throne, and that He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We know that no matter what, He will not leave us nor forsake us. He will continue to turn the hearts of rulers and kings like a watercourse. He will continue to uphold and sustain the universe. He will one day wipe every tear from our eyes.
We don’t know what lies ahead, and yet we need not fear because we serve a God of love, of compassion, of patience, of kindness, of mercy, of justice, and of grace.
His promises will never fail. His love endures forever.
America is not the center of the universe. Jesus Christ is the one who “is before all things, and in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).
So do not fear, dear ones. He is coming soon.

Amen! We can have peace on earth because despite what politicians say, God is the winner.
I do not know what lies aheda;
in truth, I do not care,
for just as long as I ain’t dead
I’m down with being there.
Cancer’s taught me oh so much
that I’d have never learned,
like that a loving gentle touch’s
a gift, and never earned,
and that love’s still worth living for,
even when I screw it up,
for a heart will keep an open door,
and a hand will hold a cup
of rum-shot tea one don’t deserve,
for like God, love is here to serve.
Amen Kate! If we will remember that He is King and we are not and that His love conquers all, we will be ready for what’s to come.
Amen Kate. Glory to God. Jesus is coming soon. #11
Amen!

Thank you, Kate, for the reminder that God directs the course of the king’s heart!!! Going forward, we need the nation to acknowledge God, just as we, ourselves, rest in the security that He is Lord over all and that our peace lies in Him.
