Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all the Americans!
It’s time for our weekly writing prompt link-up.
This week’s FMF writing prompt is: GRATEFUL
This Thanksgiving was much different from most years, thanks to the global pandemic leaving its mark in countless ways. And yet we have so much to be grateful for.
I’m grateful for each of you, for the way you continue to show up week after week to share your words of hope and love to the world, and to lift others up with words of encouragement and grace.
I’m grateful for the supportive community we share, even though many of us have never met in person. I’m grateful for the ways you impact your individual spheres with your God-given gifts, skills, and talents.
I’m grateful for the encouragement you provide to me on a regular basis, and for the ways you spur me on to be a more consistent, faithful writer, encourager, and bringer of hope.
Even though this year looks different and you may have suffered various painful losses and disappointments, I pray that the Lord would continue to strengthen you for the days ahead and give you His sufficient grace as you seek to follow the path He has laid out for you. May you continue to use the gifts He has given for His glory.

To Kate and everyone out there, with all the love my heart can hold…
It has been now quite a while
since I’ve gone down the hill,
but loneliness can’t take my smile,
for I’m a member, still,
of a strong community
that’s built on loving grace
that supplies immunity
from fear I now must face.
I would be sore terrified
of pain and failing breath,
but the love here is my guide
that leads beyond my death
and takes my hand on Heaven’s streets
where terror sees its last defeat.
Beautifully expressed!
Kate, thank you for creating and maintaining a community of encouragement. I am grateful for you and everyone who takes part!
I’m grateful for you and this community! Thank you for all your hard work and encouragement!
And I’m grateful for YOU!
Kate, thank you for this space and for all you do to equip and encourage us. Blessings.
Today I wrote a Haiku
Gratefulness pours out,
A rainbow epiphany
After the hard rain.
I have recently begun reading Ann Voskamp’s book “One Thousand Gifts”.
I definitely recommend it for its insightfulness and poetic narrative. It has reminded me of the importance of a grateful heart. Living in a posture of gratitude not only opens our eyes to see God in our everyday lives; it also prepares our hearts to receive the peace and joy of Christ, to access the abundant life we were meant to experience since the beginning of time. It is no wonder then that the Scriptures so often call us to give thanks. For in doing so, we realize God’s presence and release His power in our lives and in our world.
You are such a gift and I’m so thankful to part of this community!
