It’s Five Minute Friday time! Welcome to our weekly blog link-up. So glad you’re here!
Each week we gather around a single word prompt, write like crazy for five minutes flat, share what we’ve written (or don’t), read each other’s work, and encourage one another to keep writing.

This week’s FMF writing prompt is: SAVOR
GO.
I forgot how much I love spring. Maybe I’m feeling it even more this year after the past winter we’ve had, boarded up in the house and isolated from other people. Whatever it is, the warmer temperatures, more frequent sunshine, and budding plants and flowers are filling me with hope. Hope and joy.
I’ve been watching the daffodil stems emerge from the soil and each day they’re taller. The blooms started to form but all I could see was the outer green covering, hiding the flower inside.
I heard raindrops last night and wondered if it was the boost the flowers needed.
This morning as my daughter opened the curtains she said, “The daffodils bloomed!” Then she laughed: “Your eyebrows just shot up when I said that! Why are you so excited?”
I hurried to the window to see for myself: Sure enough, bright yellow bursts of color crowning each green stem.
The sky was gray today, leftover melancholy from last night’s rain, and the air was not as warm as it has been in recent days . . . but the flowers are blooming.
Even in the midst of the gray and chill, I’m going to savor the blooms, savor the bursts of color, savor the signs of life.
STOP.

When communion you are taking,
savour what you are completing;
it’s not bread someone was baking,
it’s your Saviour you are eating,
for He said this is My body,
and My blood, it is Your wine,
and it may seem really oddly
put, but now, it is the time
to accept the truth He put there,
that He had to be consumed;
from with He could repair
us, else we would be ever doomed
to be always set aside
unless we took Him all inside.
If anyone tried to access my post, it didn’t publish the first time. It’s up now.
I’m a little bit jealous because my spring flowers probably won’t bloom for another week or so. But I am also smiling because my Christmas cactus is blooming again.
This comment is for Andrew. Hope he sees it. I tried to read his post, but when I clicked on the link get a message on his blog that says the page/post I am looking for does not exist.
It’s there now, Grams. Blogger was in rebellion.
Never mind. It’s working now.
As I walked towards the beach my nostrils savored the fresh tangy sea breeze.The stresses of the week slowly ebbed out of my body leaving it calm.All about me the grandeur of God.The beautiful sunset a backdrop to the glassy blue sea.The warm waves lapped at my ankles. It’s soothing a balm to my tired feet.
Sometimes life’s hits keep coming and nothing seems to dull the pain
I have found however that nature’s beauty and a walk on the beach can be solace to a troubled soul.
When troubles seem to knock you off your feet,take a walk in nature and savor all its delights.A deep breath and the world seems a much better place.
I completely understand this feeling! Spring is markedly more exciting this year after the winter we all just endured. The lockdown lesson of savoring what’s good, juxtaposed with the feeling of doom last spring, makes the blooming of daffodils a true delight!
Aww! Daffodils are blooming here, too! Even though it’s snowed twice this week. That’s what I love about tulips and daffodils–they do the unexpected and bring hope during our times of change.
Kate, I love to see spring bloom too. Isn’t it something that God is faithful in having the seasons come and go without fail? He is good all the time. I love summer, for me the hotter the better. Isn’t it something that we can observe the birth and death then rebirth of the seasons? I love watching his creations.
