This week’s FMF writing prompt and Day 15 of the 31-Day Writing Challenge is: TREASURE

Here’s my Day 15 prayer for the 31 Prayers for Writers series. I pray it’s a blessing to you.

2 Corinthians 4:7

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:7, ESV

Adoration

Father, You are strong. You are my rock and my redeemer. You are above all things. You are high and lifted up. You cannot be shaken. No one can thwart Your plans. You are almighty. You are all-powerful. Nothing is too difficult for You.

Confession

Father, I confess that I try to do things in my own strength. I think I am strong. Like a stubborn toddler, I want to do things “all by myself.” Lord, I am nothing without You. I can do nothing apart from You and Your sufficient grace. I need Your Spirit to sustain me. I am weak and feeble and frail, and my every breath depends on You.

Thanksgiving

Thank You, Lord, for offering Your power to me through Your Spirit. Thank You for reminding me of my weakness, and for showing me in Your Word that when I am weak, then I am strong, because Your grace is sufficient for me.

Supplication

Father, I am clay. You are the potter. Mold me and make me. Shape me into Your likeness. Remind me of my weakness and my frailty so that I will always depend on You for strength. In my writing life, cause me to rely on You for every word I write. Make me humble, Lord, and use that humility to draw others to You.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
