Hello! Welcome to this week’s edition of the weekly Five Minute Friday link-up!

There are quite a few new faces around here this week, thanks to the super fun FlourishWriters Virtual Retreat. I so enjoyed sharing a live session, and it has been such a pleasure to meet so many new writing friends.

If you’re new, an extra special welcome to you!

You can learn more about the link-up and how it works here.

And if you’re not on the FMF email list yet, you can fix that by joining here. ūüėČ

This week’s Five Minute Friday writing prompt is: PRAYER

Setting a timer for five minutes, and . . . GO.

Confession: I don’t do it often enough. Not nearly often enough, in fact.

What am I referring to?

This powerful, intimate gift that our God has given us, and I take it for granted and don’t enjoy it enough.

When it comes to my writing life, I’ve realized that it’s the same as every other area of my life — I am completely dependent on the Lord. I can’t do anything good or productive without His help and sustaining grace.

So why even try? Why do I keep trying to do it on my own before turning to Him.

During the month of October, I shared 31 five-minute prayers for writers on the Five Minute Friday Instagram page. These are the prayers of my heart, not only for you as a fellow writer for God, but for me and my writing as well.

These prayers helped me remember my dependence on God and the vital importance of turning to Him first before I attempt to write a single word. Without His leading, guidance, and direction, my work is worthless and can bear no fruit.

So . . . Will you commit to praying for your own writing with me?

I compiled the prayers into a downloadable, printable resource for you to use throughout the month in hopes that they will bring you some spiritual support and encouragement as you seek to write for Him.

I hope and pray that they’ll be helpful to you!

xx Kate
