Hello from a very blustery, cold, snowy West Michigan! As I mentioned in last week’s post, we went from an unusually mild beginning of the month to the other extreme. Lots of snow and ice on the roads over here today!

This week’s FMF writing prompt is: LAUGH
I love to laugh. Sometimes my family teases me because I laugh so easily. I guess it doesn’t help that they’re all so stinking funny.
I’ve realized it even more recently, as the health issues I’ve been experiencing have made it physically painful to laugh. I keep telling my husband and kids to stop making me laugh because it hurts, and they keep claiming, “But we’re not doing anything funny!”
I should count my blessings. It is no small thing to live in a home with laughter. It is no small thing to be surrounded by loved ones who make you smile and laugh (even if it hurts temporarily).
As we approach Thanksgiving next week, I have so much to be thankful for. I thank God for the innumerable ways He continues to bless me and show me His lovingkindness. I’m thankful for reasons to laugh, and for a God who delights in bringing His children joy.
What are you thankful for this week? What (or who) makes you laugh?
Let’s pause and appreciate the gifts of joy and laughter this week . . . especially when it’s so easy to get weighed down by the darkness and burdens in the world.
He is Light . . . and in the Light there is so much goodness to be found.
STOP.Â

Henry the deaf Pit Bull
makes me laugh out loud,
for his joy’s completely full
and he’s not too proud
to take a pratfall in the yard
when with Belle the Wolf he plays,
and sometimes the impact’s hard,
and for a moment he just lays
upon the ground, his wind knocked out,
but will soon leap to his feet
with a happy doggy shout
just in time that he can meet
the big onrushing lupine train
that’s gonna knock him down again.
Three minutes 45!
Yes, yes, and amen! My family makes me laugh too! I probably won’t eat much at the annual Thanksgiving feast because I’ll be laughing so much! LOL! Can’t wait. God is good. Blessings! (FMF#11) Thanks for keeping this thing going, Kate. It is truly appreciated.
