This week’s FMF writing prompt is: MAKE

Setting my timer for five minutes, and . . . GO.

I don’t do it often enough, but I find great satisfaction in making things.

A few weeks ago, after sticking makeshift labels for my seeds and seedlings in my garden using clothespins, plastic squares, and a Sharpie, I decide to make more permanent labels for my soon-to-be-growing veggies.

I browsed a few photos for inspiration online, combined some ideas I found, scavenged for rocks amongst my existing landscaping, dug out my acrylic paints, and got to work.

It was so much fun.

Here’s a sneak peek at how they turned out:

In the past, I’ve gone through various phases: attempting to sew (that did *not* go well), painting on canvas, handlettering on wood, rolling paper flowers, designing t-shirts, creating art for my office . . . the list goes on.

I even held an art show as a fundraiser when I was about to move to South Africa way back in 2002.

What about you? Do you enjoy making things as much as I do?

Perhaps this is enjoyment is because we’re made in the image of our Maker, the greatest and most creative Creator of all.

STOP.

In related news . . .

I know I’m a dork, but I had way too much fun making this reel on Instagram . . . and I was way too proud of the timing of the transitions with my song choice. 😉 My teenagers just rolled their eyes at me. Ha! It’s the little things, right?!
