Welcome to this week’s edition of the Five Minute Friday link-up!
I know I make similar comments often, but I truly can’t believe that this is our final link-up of July! Where did the month go??
If you’re new to the FMF community, you can learn more about the link-up here.
This week’s FMF writing prompt is: REWIND
Thank you to FMF Community Member Sharon Mizener for the prompt suggestion!
Setting my timer for five minutes, and . . . GO.Â
My daughter turns 19 (!!!) today, and how I wish I could rewind time and go back . . .
Back to those first steps and smiles.
Back to the toddler stage with new words and phrases and adorable mispronunciations nearly every day.
Back to the day she got her ears pierced and the day she learned to crochet.
Back to the lemonade stands and bake sales, the homeschool experiments and field trips.
Back to splashing in the waves at the beach and watching her at sports lessons and events.
Back to snow days and road trips and ripsticks in the park.
Those days that seemed to drag and never end. The dirty diapers and kitchen messes and spills on the carpet and furniture. The grass stains on jeans and wet, smelly shoes and hair that refused to be combed.
I didn’t always realize it then, but those fleeting days were like gold.
And while I would love to go back, I will smile at the precious memories, thank God for the blessings, and turn my face toward whatever lies ahead.
STOP.

If I could rewind the days
that led me to this dark fell place
I would refrain, and rather praise
the times between suffused with grace,
for the hard road that led me here
also led through glades of love,
and though there’s been travail and fear,
I’m led on by a spotless dove,
shining white against the storm,
of steady wing and gold-set eye,
and dying I know to be born
to a mansion in the sky
where a table’s set for me
with pizza and with malt whiskey.
Three minutes. Didn’t exactly know where I was going.
Do you sing these?
Rewind~

Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
God is in the business of rewinding the future in the present. How? What a mystery. People say ~ just confess and repent… People say ~ surrender it all to Him… People say ~ just forgive…
What do you say God? What comes before Joel 2:25? What was God telling them to do? v12- Turn to me with all your heart. v13 – Rend your heart and not your garments. V13 – remember i am the Lord who is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. v15-17 – Call a prayer gathering to intercede for the people. v21 – Fear NOT. v22 – BE NOT AFRAID. v23- Rejoice in the Lord.
Come Lord Jesus, Come!
