Setting my timer for five minutes, and . . . GO.

I have a testimony this week, y’all.

The Lord parted the storms for me today.

I just got home from an eight-hour round trip to pick up my youngest son’s stuff from college. (I know it’s late in the summer for that, but his school has a different schedule.)

Anyway, all week, the forecast was predicting heavy rain and thunderstorms along my entire route from home to campus and back. I don’t love driving anyway, and I like it even less in the rain and even less with thunder, strong winds, and lightning.

But I do love my son, so I set aside my dislikes and packed myself an extra set of clothes to change into afterward, fully expecting to get completely drenched while making numerous trips from his dorm to my parked minivan and back.

And guess what?

It rained (moderately, not severely) for the last ninety minutes on my drive there, and then it stopped!

I looked at the radar on my weather app when I arrived, and there were storms to the east and storms to the west, but a dry corridor at the university.

The Lord gave us dry ground while we packed his things and loaded the van.

My drive home had blue skies and sunshine until the very end. I couldn’t believe it.

Thirty minutes from home, I saw lightning in my rearview mirror.

Ten minutes from home, the skies grew dark with storm clouds.

Six minutes from home, the regional sirens started blaring outside, as well as weather alerts on my phone, indicating a tornado warning. Everyone within earshot was supposed to take shelter.

I made it home and my husband and I moved to the basement while the storm passed.

Was that the Lord’s provision, or what? Thank You, Lord!

(Also, a pickup truck towing a trailer blew a tire right next to me as I crossed into Michigan. The pop was so loud and the trailer definitely could’ve swerved, but the Lord got them safely to the opposite shoulder of the highway without further incident, even though a semi truck was right behind them. God is good!)

And that’s my testimony for you.

Where have you seen God’s goodness and provision this week?

STOP.
