Welcome to the Five Minute Friday Writing Community!
My name is Kate Motaung, and I’m thrilled that you found this space.
At its heart, Five Minute Friday is a place for Christian writers to be encouraged and equipped for a fruitful writing life that blesses others and glorifies God.
We provide a number of resources and opportunities for you to find community and accountability, meet fellow writers, grow in the craft through weekly writing prompts and other writing tips and challenges, and much more.
Before we get started, make sure you’re on the mailing list so you don’t miss any of the good stuff:
Here’s what Five Minute Friday offers:
Our weekly blog link-up is the longest-standing feature of the Five Minute Friday Writing Community, and a favorite gathering amongst online Christian writers.
We provide a one-word prompt every Thursday at 10pm EST and the link-up is open for a full week.
Visit our Community page for the latest link-up posts to add your own free write and read other participants’ posts!
Our private Facebook group is one of my favorite features of the Five Minute Friday community.
If you’re looking for some encouragement in your writing life or advice regarding certain writing-related topics, this is a great group to join! Stay up-to-date with the latest FMF prompts and news, plus meet other like-minded blogging friends!

Are you on Twitter? If so, join us every Thursday evening from about 8:45pm EST until around 9:45pm EST as we connect in real time with other Five Minute Friday community members.
Follow along here so you don’t miss out!
We talk all things chocolate, writing, family . . . pretty much just life in general. It’s a wonderful way to connect on a regular basis with other Christian writers.
Looking for some tried and tested writing resources to help you grow in the writing life?
Here’s a list of my favorites writing tools, including everything from writing programs to books to email distribution programs to social media schedulers.
I only recommend products I’ve used and loved.
This list is really just skimming the surface of all that you’ll experience by joining the Five Minute Friday writing community. (Have we mentioned yet how glad we are that you’re here?)
We hope you find a warm and welcoming community of Christian writers who are eager to encourage one another to use the gifts we’ve been given to the glory of God.
Feel free to fill out the Contact form if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks for being here!
